Biketour 2008/2009 [EN /GER]
For me is touring by bicycle the best way to explore the planet. I’m slow enough for all the details around, but fast enough to cross continents in a reasonable time frame. It is easy to transport equipment on a bike and it is feasible to reach remote areas.
Radreisen ist für mich die beste Art unseren Planeten zu erkunden. Man ist langsam genug um ausreichend Details zu sehen, aber schnell genug um in einem vernünftigen Zeitrahmen ganze Kontinente zu durchqueren. Mit dem Rad ist es leicht, Ausrüstung zu transportieren und durchaus möglich, in entlegenste Gebiete vorzudringen.

Am 18 August 2008 bin ich von Österreich nach Australien ausgeflogen, nur um mich von dort gleich wieder auf den Heimweg zu machen. Ich habe Australien durchquert. Von Australien bin ich, wieder Willen, per Flugzeug nach Bali geflogen. Der Plan war alles überland bzw. per Schiff zu schaffen. Leider war meine Geduld, um auf ein Schiff nach Indonesien zu warten, nicht ausreichend. In Indonesien habe ich dann die Inseln Bali, Java und Sumatra durchquert. Ab Bali bin ich meinem Plan bis Russland treu geblieben, und hab mich nicht mehr in die Lüfte erhoben. Von Singapore aus bin ich nach Norden, nach Russland. Auf der folgenden Karte ist die Route visuell dargestellt. In Sachen Visum hab ich mir in Russland die Zaehne ausgebissen, nur ein Monat war in anbetracht der Umstaende zu bekommen. Abermals musste ich meine Plaene und Traeume auf das Machbare und Bezahlbare reduzieren. Abermals entschloss ich mich von Irkutsk in den Flieger zu steigen. Seit Moskau war ich wieder auf dem Bike. Die letzten Kilometer sozusagen. Am 21. September 2009 bin ich zuhause angekommen, Nach 400 Tagen, 23.000 Km und 1200 Stunden auf dem Rad.
I’ve started on 18th of August 2008 by plane from Austria to Australia. Since that time I rode to Austria. I crossed Australia then I went, against my plan, by plane to Bail on Indonesia. The Plan was to go home overland, but there was no boat at that time. From Singapore I drove mostly north cross Malaysia, Thailand, Laos, China and Monoglia to Russia. In Russia I faced again problems, no long time Visa just one month, to expansive, not reachable for me in my situation. You can have a look on the map there you can see my route cross Asia. From Irkutsk (RU) I went by plane to Moskau, since there I’ve been on the bike again. The last Kilometers as I would say. Since the 21th of september I’m at home, after 400 Days, 23.000 Km and 1200 hour of rinding.
Selbst sehe ich mich als eine Art Beobachter, nicht nur optisch sondern mit allen Sinnen wahrnehmen was real ist. Hier im Internet beschreibe ich was ich wahrgenommen hab. Ich denke es ist wichtig die Welt so zu servieren und zu sehen wie sie ist.

Die Webseite ist natuerlich fuer Besucher gemacht. Ich hoffe die Realitaet ist interessant genug. Ich versuch die Welt ohne Fokus darzustellen und auch auf Probleme hinzuweisen, die oft ausgeblendet werden. Viel Spass. Die Welt ist schoen.

also der Verkehr in Russland war nicht so wild. Ich könnte mich jetzt an keine Mord-versuchs-aktionen erinnern. Pech kann man immer haben, in der Mongolei ist man manchmal mit solchen “Killern” konfrontiert, hab ich auch überlebt!
